Create a new document with the following settings:
width: 945 pixels
height: 550 pixels
Resolution: 120 ppi
Color mode: RGB 8 bit
Background: transparent
Instructions:
* Place an image (thing)
* Remove its background using the magic wand tool (make sure to refine the edges of the selection)
* Create a new layer and paint it using the paint bucket tool (free color)
* Save it as JPEG high quality (8)
Practice #2 Polygonal lasso & gradient tool
Create a new document with the following settings:width: 15 cm
height: 15 cm
Resolution: 100 ppi
Color mode: CMYK 8 bit
Background: transparent
Instructions:
* Place an image (person)
* Remove its background using the polygonal lasso tool (make sure to use "feather" to refine the edges)
* Create a new layer and paint it using the gradient tool (min. 4 colors)
* Save it as JPEG high quality (8)
Practice #3 Marquee tools
Create a new document with the following settings:width: 6 inches
height: 9 inches
Resolution: 95 ppi
Color mode: RGB 8 bit
Background: transparent
Instructions:
* Place 3 different images (textures, places, patterns, etc.)
* Cut one parte of an image using the rectangular marquee tool
* Cut one parte of an image using the rectangular elliptical marquee tool
* Use the third image as the background
* Save it as JPEG high quality (8)
When you finish, create a new page in your site named Photoshop Practices, and post the 3 final images. Remember to put the name of each practice.
